SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) – The South Korean team was eliminated Thursday (local time) during the group stage of the 23rd Women’s Junior Handball World Championships currently held in Slovenia.
The South Koreans were beaten by France 34-21 in Group D in the city of Cejle. They also lost their first match of the day against Norway.
Because of these two losses, the young South Korean handball players will not advance to the eighth finals regardless of the result of their third match against Brazil.
It will be recalled that South Korea won the world title in the juniors in 2014 and finished 7th at the 2016 World Championships and 3rd in 2018.
