Toni Nadal thinks her nephew Rafael will be on the verge of playing at Wimbledon, even if his foot is still under treatment.
“Yes, Rafael is going to play at Wimbledon,” said Toni Nadal, still very close to his nephew, on the sidelines of the ATP tournament in Stuttgart. “If he has a little chance, he will play.”
“When we spoke yesterday (Friday), he told me it would have been much better, he wanted to train,” said Majorquin’s uncle, who says the 36 -year -old player – who won the week his last 14th Roland -Garros tournament – will resume the racket next week.
Nadal has been suffering from Müller-Weiss syndrome for years, a degenerative and incurable disease characterized by deformity of one of the bones of the foot.
The Spanish champion revealed that he had to play the Roland-Garros final with an anesthetic foot but that he was not ready to renew the Wimbledon experience.
