Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova, 30th in the world, created the surprise by winning the ‘s-Hertogenbosch grass tournament on Sunday by beating in the final the head of Series No. 1, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, in two sets 7-5, 6- 0.
This is only the second title in the career of this great waitress, aged 27, after Shenzhen in 2020. She could not benefit from her beautiful form at Wimbledon, no more than her rival, because the Russians and Belarusians have was excluded due to the invasion of Ukraine.
