The Masters 1000 will last longer starting in 2023

The ATP has just adopted the first phase of its “OneVision” strategic plan after more than two years of consultations with the ATP’s board of directors, the players and tournament councils and the ATP’s advisory council. composed of experts from the media and technology industry. It will be in force from January 2023.

As has been the case in recent months, the audited financial data of the tournaments will in particular offer players total transparency on the economy of the tournaments, which the latter have claimed, while the tournaments and players are deprived of 5/50 engrangés benefits.

The most visible measure will involve the extension of some Masters 1000 tournaments. Five of them will last a period of eight days (at a table of 56 players) to twelve days (at 96 players), according to Indian Wells tournaments at Miami. These are Madrid (starting from 2023), Rome (starting from 2023), Shanghai (starting from 2023), Montreal/Toronto (starting from 2025) and Cincinnati (starting from 2025).
