Lecture: Saint-Jo excels at the XIII French Rugby Championships

the essential
The students of Saint-Jo de Lectoure college and high school had very good performances during the UGSEL Rugby Championships in France XIII: the cadets are the champions of France, the girls and the junior boys are their runners-up.

On May 25, 70 students from the college at Saint-Jo de Lectoure high school took part in the UGSEL UGSEL Rugby Championships in France at XIII, in Nérac. The students had the joy of discovering the atmosphere of the big tournaments. All and sundry defended the colors of the establishment: all teams finished on the podium, with three national titles on key! Of note, the impressive performance of the cadet team, which is the XIII French rugby champion, and the excellent performances of the high school women’s teams.

In high school, the girls were runners-up in French rugby at XIII. The junior boys are the runners-up.

Rugby activity has always been fundamental in Saint-Jo Lectoure, between the Sports Association on Wednesday and the rugby section which concerns this year 30 students from 6th and 5th and 20 students in 4th and 3rd.

A strong link with the Lectoure club

Among them, a third of the students are also licensed at the Lectoure club and the dynamics within the AS and the rugby section are carried: in high school, training every Wednesday with the AS at the stadium with Nicolas Bach, Sébastien Saez and Florian Fitte.

The high school women’s team is the UNSS departmental champion. The cadets after their title of UNSS departmental champion participated in the academic final in Pamier.

At the college, the boys minors team, coached by Nicolas Mazzonetto, is the 7 UNSS departmental rugby vice-champion. Many activities are also offered to the students: a trip to Agen to encourage the SUA team, a change with the rugby section of the Beaumont-de-Lomagne College, a trip to the Sevens international tournament in Toulouse.

Nicolas Mazzonetto wants to finally revitalize women’s or college rugby, with the hope of finding a regular activity of meetings and tournaments.
