Good debut of the French at the Beach Volleyball World Championship

Three out of three for the Blues at the Beach Volleyball World Championship which started Friday in Rome. The men’s pair, made up of Youssef Krou and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat, posted their first win this Saturday, against Paraguayans Gonzalo Melgarejo and Roger Daniel Battilana Villamayor (2-0; 21-13, 21-16). On Friday, they were inclined to face Americans Taylor Sander and Taylor Crabb (2-1; 21-18, 20-22, 15-13). The dispute will be their third and final chicken match on Monday, against Qatariens Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan.

Lezana Placette and Alexia Richard, meanwhile, won their first win Friday, against Germans Chantal Laboureur and Sarah Schulz (2-1; 21-19, 15-21, 15-8). They will face Canadians Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes on Sunday, then Australians Alisha Stevens and Georgia Johnson.

The first two teams of each pool, as well as the top four three, will directly qualify for the 16th finals. The other eight thirds will have to fight to win one of the last four places for the final table.
