Arnaud Mignardi will relocate the crampons to Auch

At 36, the former three-quarter center Brive will come out of two years of retirement to reunite with his coaching club in National 2.

The Brive three-quarter center emblem ended his career two years ago, in June 2020. Since then, he has been a back coach for US Dax. But Arnaud Mignardi decided to get rid of the cramps and play in National 2 (4e division) for Auch, his coaching club. Interrogated via France Bleu, the 36 -year -old player justified his decision. «I always tell myself that I would have liked to loop the loop by finishing at the club where I started, Auch. I would never repeat in any club. It’s really because it’s my coach club. That’s where I played in 2004 my first match in Top 16. I’m always part of the principle that you have to do what we’ve been given. (…) I thank Benoît August, President of the US Dax, for giving me this opportunity to train. I was allowed to see that the rugby below corresponded to me and, also, that I missed it.»

A return with those ambitions? «I will go in all humility, to try to give a slap in the face to the players. Then, what am I going to play regularly? Am I going to be a second knife? Would I be there just to hang out? It will depend on my level. If I’m zero, if I’m ridiculous, I’ll be quick to see it and it’s me who’s going to turn the page very quickly. After all, if I make sense of it and I actually file them a blow, I’ll continue…»
